Cinco jogos depois, nos quais tinha conseguido apenas marcar um golo, o Liverpool está de regresso às vitórias na Premier League, batendo, fora de casa, o Tottenham, por 3-1. As más notícias para José Mourinho não se ficam pela derrota, já que o treinador português viu Harry Kane, estrela da equipa, lesionar-se num tornozelo e sair ao intervalo para dar o lugar a Erik Lamela.

Logo aos três minutos, o Tottenham até chegou à vantagem mas o golo de Son Heung-Min acabaria por ser anulado por fora de jogo milimétrico do sul-coreano. A vitória do campeão inglês começou a desenhar-se no último minuto dos descontos da primeira parte, com Roberto Firmino, à boca da baliza, a desviar o cruzamento de Sadio Mané para o fundo da baliza.

No segundo tempo, início frenético e 2-0 para o Liverpool por intermédio de Trent Alexander-Arnold, aos 47’, mas a reação dos spurs surgiria logo de seguida, com o médio dinamarquês Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg a encher o pé para, de fora da área, assinar excelente golo e reduzir distâncias.

Aos 65’, já depois de Mohamed Salah ter visto um golo anulado por mão na bola de Firmino, foi a vez de Sadio Mané inscrever o nome na lista de marcadores para bater Lloris pela terceira vez e fazer o resultado final.

Com este triunfo, o Liverpool recupera o 4.º lugar, com 37 pontos, a quatro da liderança do Manchester City. Já o Tottenham, que apenas venceu duas das últimas cinco jornadas, deixa-se ultrapassar pelo West Ham.
