Adult star mum says fans are paying for her fuel after price hikes caused by Iran war
Aberdeen mum-of-two Laura Whyte, 32, says generous fans from her adult content platform have sent her around £2,000 in extra payments to cover soaring fuel costs
A mum-of-two says her subscribers from her adult content platform have sent her £2,000 to pay for her fuel and heating amid the fuel price crisis caused by the Iran war.
Laura Whyte, 32, says that on top their £7.50 monthly subscription fees, several men have sent her between £150 and £800 for fuel and the oil heating for the £200k home her adult content platform money bought.
The men expect nothing in return, and Laura says it shows that the world is “not just full of war, chaos and hate but people still care and are willing to help others”.
Since joining the adult entertainment industry in September 2021, Laura has bought and paid off the mortgage on her two-bedroom 200k home with a bothy and six acres of land.
Last Christmas, she splashed out £5k on her children’s presents and has spent several hundred pounds for over 60 Easter Eggs. She says this is thanks to generous subscribers sending her extra money for weekly amenities such as groceries, household items and more recently, fuel.
Laura, an adult content creator, from Aberdeen, Scotland, said: “A lot of them class themselves as sugar daddies. It’s lovely to feel thought about. They don’t want anything in return; they see it as helping me.
"For a lot of them, it’s just out of niceness; they don’t ask for photos or to meet up. Three guys send money weekly – one of them £150 and two of them £200 – not always for fuel but for gifts, stuff I need, and to treat myself.
"They’re really sweet. Before the war started, I got all my oil for £400.
"I called to see what the price for the same amount is now, and it was £800, so that’s what he sent. I won’t spend it on anything else, though.
“It shows the world’s not just a bad place; there are still good people out there, who care. It’s not all just war, chaos and hate.”
The extra income that men offer her on top of their subscription fees means that Laura doesn’t have to “touch” the money she earns through the website, but rather can place it all in savings. In return for people’s generosity, Laura tries to provide reassurance in troubled times.
Laura, who originally shared her story with Sell Us Your Story, said: “I can’t change Trump, Israel or Iran. I can’t tell people not to worry – people are scared and I don’t know enough to have a say on the conflict.
“But I did have somebody who was quite worried about it and I spoke to him for two hours and he’s never mentioned it since. I think whenever there’s a conflict, even if we’re not directly involved British people get the brunt.
"We’re so used to it now, prices go down then back up again. There’s no point thinking too much about it.
“I try and help others – other women on Instagram, I’ll happily send them money if they’re struggling, or share their page if they have one. People help me, so I help out others.”
When business is good, Laura can earn as much as £10k a month, although that figure has climbed down to £4-6k as a result of some “slower” months. With the money she has saved as a result of the fuel payments, she will continue to develop her home and spoil her 14- and 10-year old children.
“I drive a Suzuki 4x4 and a Golf for going around the field, so I can save a lot of fuel," Laura said. "My son and daughter like to go around the field on their bikes.
"The extra money saves me from having to touch the [adult content platform] money. My husband doesn’t complain, the more money I save, the more we can do for the house.
“We’re generally not big spenders but I can go over the top with things like Easter – I've got 60 eggs in the loft right now, they’re not cheap! I just have a habit of chucking them in the trolley, although I don’t buy Cadbury ones anymore, the price scares me.
"The Asda cheap brand has the same ingredients, so why would I pay more for the same thing?”
