Woman found dead on street of UK seaside town as man, 18, arrested
A murder investigation has been launched in Prestatyn, North Wales following the discovery of a woman's body on a street by passers-by yesterday morning as police appealed for information
A woman's body has been found dead on a street of a popular seaside town by passers-by as police arrested an 18-year-old man. A murder probe has been launched following the discovery in the town of Prestatyn, North Wales yesterday morning.
The man was arrested five hours later on suspicion of murder. The scene at Dawson Drive has been cordoned off as police urged the public to avoid the area.
There were also officers observed in Coniston Drive with the area of the town also taped off. Superintendent Lee Boycott of North Wales Police said: “Investigations are under way at pace to establish the circumstances of the incident.
“We understand there will be concern within our local communities and we will continue to keep them informed as we gather more information.
“There will be an increased policing presence locally today and into the weekend to support our investigation and reassure the public.”
A police statement read: “I would also ask that people do not speculate online and to report any information or concerns to officers. We will provide further information in due course.”
Anybody with further information is urged to get in contact with the police. The statement added: "We ask that anyone with concerns, or information that could assist with our investigations, to approach our officers in the community,” police said.
