Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho could be on his way to PSG this summer following reports his agent, Jorge Mendes, has been in contact with the club

PSG have stepped up their interest in Jose Mourinho after reportedly approaching the Roma manager's agent, Jorge Mendes.

The French giants are expected to replace Christophe Galtier over the summer regardless of whether he manages to land the Ligue 1 title or not, and Mourinho has emerged as one of the club's top targets.

The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss is believed to be keen on a move to the Parc des Princes following two seasons in the Italian capital, despite having a year left to run on his contract.

Julian Nagelsmann, Zinedine Zidane and Thiago Motta are also being considered for the position, while Carlo Ancelotti, who is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, is also in contention.

When asked about reports he'd been speaking to PSG and Chelsea, Mourinho said: "I’m not talking to anyone. The situation is clear, from a contractual point of view I still have one year on my contract.

"Football is football, sometimes contracts aren’t the most important thing. All good, all calm, the next one is always the most important game."

Can Mourinho win the Champions League with PSG? Let us know in the comments section below.

PSG are set to undergo a major rebuild with the futures of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe all up in the air, while yet another disappointing showing in the Champions League this season has left fans demanding wholesale changes.

Messi was suspended by the club after flying to Saudi Arabia without permission earlier this month, and although he's expected to return to action this weekend after issuing a public apology, the Argentine superstar is now nailed on to leave when his contract runs out at the end of the campaign.

Last week, Neymar had his house targeted by furious PSG supporters demanding he leave the club too, while Mbappe continues to be linked with a mega money move to Real Madrid. In short, whoever's in the PSG hotseat next season will have one heck of a job on their hands.
