Jude Bellingham scored a stunning equaliser for Real Madrid in El Clasico before netting a 92nd minute winner – but UK fans were unable to watch it due to a long-standing law

Jude Bellingham continued his meteoric rise at Real Madrid as he scored a stunning second-half equaliser from 25 yards out before netting an injury-time winner against Barcelona in El Clasico on Saturday.

Bellingham, 20, has been nothing short of sensational for Los Blancos since making the £88million switch from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. The England international had scored 11 times in 12 games for Real before his stunner away at Barcelona brought up his 13th of the campaign already.

He then added his 14th of the season as he scored a 92nd minute winner to carry Real to three points in Catalunya. Bellingham’s goals have now seen him equal and surpass club icon Zinedine Zidane’s best-ever season goal tally at Real, and we’re only in October.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side were 1-0 down at half-time after former Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan scored inside six minutes, but Bellingham once again stole the show as he pounced on a loose touch in the six-yard box to win the game.

Fans on social media couldn’t believe Bellingham’s dream afternoon yet again, one reacted to his opening goal, saying: “That was a firecracker!!! Omgggggg turned the game around in an instant”. A second commented after his winner, adding: “Jude Bellingham’s generational. Best thing he ever did was to join Real Madrid. Absolute superstar.”

A third fan commented: “I knew it! Barcelona can’t escape a Jude Bellingham masterclass”. While a fourth wrote: “Jude Bellingham is a ‘Galactico’. He was born and bred to play for Los Blancos. Look at this celebration, oozes a sporting arrogance which is justified by his alien ability on a football pitch. He is him.”

However, Bellingham’s goals were missed by UK fans who were unable to watch the game due to the 3pm TV blackout. The clash kicked off at 3:15pm on Saturday, falling to the blackout ruling which means live games can’t be shown on tele between 2:45pm and 5:30pm in order to protect attendance and participation at grassroots level.

Bellingham’s inspired turnaround sees Real Madrid move four points clear of Barcelona and climb above surprise package Girona on goal difference at the top of the table.

Writing his name in the history books at Real, his superhuman scoring run has already seen him match Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for hitting double figures in his first ten games for Los Blancos. He’s also forever etched in folklore by leading them to victory over arch-rivals Barcelona.
