Bayern Munich lost the German Super Cup final 3-0 to RB Leipzig, with Harry Kane coming on as a second-half substitute and seeing his wait for a trophy continue

Harry Kane was trolled as his wait for a trophy continued with Bayern Munich losing the Super Cup final to RB Leipzig.

The England captain, 30, started on the bench for his new club on Saturday (August 12) evening just hours after completing his transfer from Tottenham.

By the time he came on in the 63rd minute, Bayern were 2-0 down thanks to a first-half brace from Dani Olmo - who completed his hat-trick four minutes later from the penalty spot.

While Kane could do little to prevent the defeat, footy fans poked fun at his career remaining silverware-less. One tweeted: "Harry Kane bringing his trophyless curse to Bayern."

A second echoed: "Lmfao, Bayern signed Harry Kane to come and infect them with Tottenham virus." And a third wrote: "Well, it didn't take long for Kane to infect the entire Bayern squad with Spursy."

A fourth commented: "This Spurs fraud Kane has gone to infect Bayern with his losing mentality. Hasn't been there 10 minutes and they are already losing out on trophies."

Some fans theorised that the Spurs curse was actually Kane's doing. "It was never the Tottenham curse, it was Harry Kane all along," joked a fifth, while a sixth argued: "The curse left with Kane, we’re winning the league."

A seventh added: "In 2008 Spurs won the League Cup. A couple of months later Kane official joined the Spurs senior squad. What if the 'Spurs curse' was actually just the Kane curse?"

Kane has headed to Germany in the hopes of adding trophies to the many personal accolades he's accumulated in his career. Bayern paid in the region of £100million to get Tottenham to part ways with their star man, a year out from his contract expiry.

He put pen to paper on a four-year contract, which is believed to be earning him well in excess of £400,000 per week, after passing his medical yesterday (August 11).

His full debut is expected to come when Bayern travel to face Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga opener next Friday.
