Leon Dajaku has finally started to find his feet in professional football - but he's not the most popular member of his family for the Hajduk Split faithful over on the Adriatic Sea

"There's absolutely no way," one football fan said in almost disbelief.

He had been looking at snap of Hajduk Split's talisman Leon Dajaku, 23, stood next to his mum, Blerta. The Kosovan-Albania stunner, who is in her 40s, had shocked fans with her jaw-dropping looks - becoming somewhat of a celebrity in Croatia, where her son plys his trade as a winger or forward.

The blonde bombshell is a beautician by profession - and she often shares snaps from work on social media, also opening up on various treatments that she undergoes to look youthful. However, first and foremost, she's a mum - a very proud one.

"Dear Leon, a new chapter in your life begins now in Croatia. May God have only the best for you and may you be healthy and happy. We love you, your family," she announced on Instagram as Dajaku moved to Hajduk.

In another photo with her footballer son, she captioned the snap: "When I'm with you, my heart smiles."

Blerta has two other sons and her family grew back in March after Leon's stunning WAG, Leonie June, gave birth to their first daughter. She said: "Our hearts are aglow with the arrival of our little princess, we love you Nava!"

The stunner also appears to love to travel, sharing snaps from across the globe on her Instagram. One picture, with her son, is taking just outside of Newcastle - while other pics are in Dubai and Stuttgart.

Dajaku has had quite the journeyman career, born in Germany after his parents fled the Yugoslavian civil war, he bounced between Stuttgart's and Bayern Munich's youth teams - making his debut for Stuttgart before moving back to Bayern in 2019.

He would make two Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarian giants before moving to Union Berlin. After failing to make a mark in Berlin he was shipped out on loan to Sunderland, who he then joined permanently in 2022, signing a two-year contract after scoring four goals in 22 appearances in his first season.

But his following season in the Championship wasn't as productive, as he failed to score a single goal in 10 league appearances, before leaving in January to join Swiss Super League club St. Gallen on loan until the end of the season. He would leave the North East in 2023, moving to Croatia and Hajduk.
