Brits and Americans have been told to flee Ukraine immediately as leading spy chiefs warn that an attack from Russia is likely occur within days – Boris Johnson said he "feared for Europe's security"

Russia is likely to invade Ukraine within days plunging the planet into World War 3 as leading spy chiefs warn of an imminent attack.

Brits have been urged to flee the country immediately by US embassy staff as fears grow that a Russian invasion could shut down airspace.

British nationals have been told to get out by the Foreign Office "while commercial means are still available”.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson has told allies that he fears "for Europe's security".

It follows two days after Joe Biden told all American citizens to leave Ukraine urgently as the White House warned an attack could come within the next two days, The Sun reports.

Now new reports suggest that Russia will invade Ukraine this Wednesday, February 16, according to German newspaper Der Spiegel.

Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin are due to hold crunch talks at 4pm UK time today (12 Feb).

Fear of an imminent invasion comes after growing tension as Putin sends more and more troops to threaten Ukraine.

"We want to be crystal clear on this point. Any American in Ukraine should leave as soon as possible and in any event in the next 24 to 48 hours.

"The risk is now high enough and the threat is now immediate enough that this is what prudence demands.

"If you stay you are assuming risk, with no guarantee that there will be any other opportunity to leave and there is no prospect of a U.S. military evacuation in the event of a Russian invasion."

The security adviser believes that a Russian attack would begin with missile and bombing strikes, which would force air, rail, and roads transportation to be closed.

The Pentagon said it would send 3,000 combat troops from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Portland to join 1,700 troops assembling there.

Brits were warned to leave Ukraine last night as the imminent threat of Russian invasion is at boiling point.

A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “The safety and security of British nationals is our top priority.

"We urge British nationals in Ukraine to leave now via commercial means while they remain available.”
