A second confrontation between a separate pair of Manchester United stars is also said to have taken place following Saturday's defeat to Brighton

Four Manchester United stars were reportedly involved in a dressing room bust-up after their humbling 3-1 defeat to Brighton.

The Red Devils were completely outplayed at Old Trafford on Saturday (September 16), with Roberto De Zerbi's Seagulls condemning them to a third defeat in their opening five Premier League games of the season. Temples are said to have flared post-match.

According to The Sun, captain Bruno Fernandes confronted fellow midfielder Scott McTominay, while centre-back pairing Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof also "lost it" with each other.

Erik ten Hag then attempted to restore order ahead of their Champions League tie with Bayern Munich on Wednesday, with injuries and suspensions leaving him short of alternative options for the trip to Germany.

Those woes were compounded by right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka sustaining a hamstring injury after coming on for the final five minutes at the weekend. He's now set to be sidelined for up to two months.

Club legend Gary Neville reckons Ten Hag has "bugs" in his squad. He said: "How popular is Sancho and Maguire in the dressing room?

"He's got some bugs in there that we don't know from the outside, what discomfort and uncertainty is being created on the inside. You've got a player at the moment who is probably changing in the first-team dressing room but obviously over with the academy.

"You've got Maguire, who has been captain of these players 12 months ago, now almost alienated as third, fourth, fifth centre-half. He's got some situations in there I don't know the damage that's having."

All four of Fernandes, McTominay, Martinez and Lindelof are likely to start against Bayern given Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat and Raphael Varane will remain absent.
