Viktor Gyokeres has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal and will be free to complete his move to the Emirates Stadium as he prepares to bid farewell to his team-mates in Portugal

Viktor Gyokeres' Sporting Lisbon team-mates have given their verdict on the Sweden striker ahead of his proposed move to Arsenal.

Zeno Debast and Ivan Fresneda have weighed in on Gyokeres' blockbuster transfer to North London. Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement in principle for the signing of Gyokeres from the Portuguese title-holders. The Gunners are set to shell out an initial €63.5m (£55m) for the 27-year-old, with another €10m (£8.7m) potentially coming into play through add-ons.

Last week saw the discussions centre around how the additional payments would be triggered, and despite the protracted nature of these talks, it is believed that Arsenal are not concerned over securing the signature of the Swedish international, who has already settled on personal terms.

With a five-year deal set to be signed, Arsenal are eager to finalise the transfer of Gyokeres before the start of the Premier League season. In a bid to push through the move, the Swede has refused to join Sporting's summer training sessions.

Sporting have continued their pre-season preparations, clinching a 1-0 victory against Sunderland at the Estadio do Algarve on Monday night.

Post-match, during an interview with TVI, Debast was questioned about whether Gyokeres' transfer saga had been a distraction. As reported by CNN, the Sporting defender remarked: "No, we continue to be a great team."

On the need of team stability, Debast remarked: "Yes, of course, we have a good team with a strong connection, and we'll try to maintain this spirit. It's one of our greatest strengths."

In the mixed zone, Fresneda was probed about the dressing room's view on Gyokeres. The Sporting right-back told CNN: "It's something that's not my business."

Upon arrival in Singapore on Sunday, Arteta shared his happiness with Arsenal's summer signings. The club has welcomed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Noni Madueke.

Arteta said: "It's like shaking the tree again. Bringing new faces, they bring new excitement, new energy as well. We signed very important players as well. I think everybody feels that the heights have to go to different level and it's what we are seeking."

Regarding Gyokeres, Arteta maintained: "I cannot comment on any player who is not part of our group yet. When we have something concrete to offer in any case to any player we will do that."

However, Arteta hinted at the possibility of new signings joining the team in Singapore for pre-season, saying: "There's still a long time in the window and we are seeking still, in terms of numbers, we are short and we have to improve the depth and quality of the squad.

"We are constantly looking in the market. Until that happens, focus on the players we have and focus on them and I'm very pleased with what I have seen in the last 10 to 15 days."
