Ruben Amorim says Man Utd 'not the impossible job' as he explains why he's 'the right guy'
Ruben Amorim has given his first press conference as Manchester United manager ahead of his debut Premier League game versus Ipswich Town and has addressed whether it's an "impossible job"
Ruben Amorim has told the doubters that making Manchester United great again is not an impossible job.
Amorim has replaced Erik ten Hag as United’s new manager. He will take charge of his first game when United take on Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Sunday.
His challenge is to turn United into serial winners of the biggest trophies again. And the Portuguese coach is backing himself to succeed where several others have failed before him.
Speaking in his first press conference since taking charge of United, Amorim said: “It’s a global club and there is so much to do. But I feel happy and comfortable. I feel at home.
“I believe in myself and I also believe in the club. We have the same ideas and mindset. I truly believe in the players as well.
“There is room to improve and we want to try new things. You guys think it is impossible, but I think it’s possible. We have space to grow as a team and improve as a club. We have to improve in a lot of areas.
“[We] have to improve the physical aspect of the team and I don’t know how long it will take. But we also have to win games and its is the strongest league in the world. We have to win games to win titles.
"We will play a different type of football. It’s not evolution or revolution, but a change. Call me naive, but it’s not the impossible job. I truly believe in the right guy for this job.”
